Project Overview:
The Library is located in the state of California, USA, within a school that integrates daycare, elementary, middle, and high school education. The client entrusted us with the task of redesigning the school’s library. Given the wide age range of users, the functional and stylistic design emphasizes a neutral approach to cater to all age groups effectively.
Design Concept:
The library is housed within an irregularly shaped polygonal building. The children’s library aims to create an engaging, imaginative, and exploratory reading space. Centered around the concept of a "Knowledge Wonderland," the design integrates natural elements to encourage a love for reading in a warm, comfortable, and creative environment. The goal is to open the doors to knowledge, foster good reading habits, and inspire a lifelong interest in learning.
Product Description:
The library’s design highlights custom features by Mooton, including a variety of uniquely shaped book storage cabinets combined with soft cushions and cartoon patterns to enhance the reading experience for children. The signature "Reading Tree" structure complements the natural style of the space while also serving as a storage feature. A two-tiered reading platform provides a comfortable area for younger children, while soft padded wall panels with playful shapes add vibrant colors to the overall ambiance of the space.
