Saudi Arabia Waldorf School

The Waldorf School was built in Saudi Arabia and it belongs to one of the branches of Waldorf School. According to Waldorf Education, the MooTon Group customized a perfect school design solution that can highlight the school running characteristics and reflect the school running philosophy, and created multiple interior designs for different functions,uses,and people under the unique design concept. Furthermore, the MooTon Group hopes that children who attend the class in the Saudi Arabia Waldorf School can acquire some knowledge, and grow up in the strong Waldorf learning atmosphere.

Overall Design Concept

Based on the Waldorf Education Philosophy,the interior nursery childhood classrooms all adopt warm colors as the main colors to create a family atmosphere for kids and integrate education and life as a whole. Besides, the design team of MooTon Group also incorporates the concept of natural ecology in detail, so that children can regularly and continuously experience each season and feel the changes of natural light in the room at different times, which can establish the perception of light and color, and stimulate the inherent creativity of children.

The Saudi Arabia Waldorf School is composed of four kinds of space design, covering the functional room design, regular classroom design, special education classroom design, and outdoor playground design.

Regular Classroom Design

Pre-kindergarten Classroom 

The pre-kindergarten classroom is designed for kids aged 2-3 years old and covers an area of 27 square meters, which can accommodate 15 kids to learn and entertain at the same time. Furthermore, this pre-kindergarten classroom has five functional zones, respectively kitchen role-play zone, painting display zone, activity zone, learning zone, and game zone, and is equipped with high-quality classroom school furniture and natural wooden toddler school furniture, providing children with a healthy and low-pollution classroom environment.

Kindergarten Early Childhood Classroom One

The kindergarten early childhood classroom is suitable for kids aged 3-4 years old and covers an area of 25 square meters, which allows 15 kids to use it at the same time. Moreover, the kindergarten early childhood classroom has five functional areas containing the dress-up role-play area, kitchen role-play area, activity area, learning area, and season table area. Besides, each functional area is equipped with corresponding premium school furniture, so that children can learn and play in a natural and comfortable space.

Kindergarten Early Childhood Classroom Two

The kindergarten early childhood classroom is designed for children aged 4-5 years old and its area is 27 square meters,which can accommodate 14 students.This classroom also has five independent functional zones, containing the season table zone, maths zone, activity zone, learning zone, and reading zone. This design of the kindergarten early childhood classroom provides multiple choice opportunities for kids to choose their zone of interest and is conducive to exploring their potential.

Kindergarten Early Childhood Classroom Three

The kindergarten early childhood classroom area is 50 square meters and it is designed for kids aged 5-6 years old. Besides, this classroom has several functional areas and matches the superior furniture for the school classroom which has the season table, art area, activity area, learning area, reading area, and light table. Furthermore, the classroom can allow 14 kids to conduct an activity at the same time, and children can freely choose any one of the activity areas.

Special Education Classroom Design

 

Special Education Classroom for Kids With Learning Difficulties

The special education classroom for kids with learning difficulties is serviced for those kids with learning difficulties and covers 21 square meters, which can accommodate 12 kids. Focusing on the kids with learning difficulties, the special education classroom is mainly to cultivate their social and behavioral adaptability, help them acquire appropriate academic achievement, acclimatize themselves to the school environment, and establish friendships and interpersonal relations. At the same time, the classroom will through the below design realize the assumption. Firstly, children can be aroused curiosity by the wall games and cultivate active learning ability. Secondly, interactive learning is formed through the building block area and supermarket role-playing experience. Thirdly, children can complete comprehensive learning through group combination training.

Special Education Classroom Design For Kids With Down Syndrome

The special education classroom design covers an area of 24 square meters and it can permit 10 Down Syndrome kids to conduct the activity at the same time. This classroom is mainly aimed at children with Down Syndrome and is designed according to different five fields of mental retardation including the cognitive domain, linguistic domain, self-care domain, sports domain, and social conditions domain. Therefore, the five fields are equipped with corresponding devices to play different important roles in five fields. Meanwhile, it set up some wall games to promote the cognition of the five senses and applies different dressing-up role-play to help them understand the characteristics of individuals with different identities.

Special Education Classroom Design For Kids With Autism

The classroom covering an area of 25 square meters is mainly for children with autism and the optimum capacity of the classroom is five people. According to the characteristics, strengths and weaknesses of the children with autism, the classroom is divided into four areas to meet their daily activities. In addition, the four areas are composed of the construction area, drawing area, reading area and maths area.

Functional Room Design

 Reception Area

Because the Waldorf School is run under the guidance of Waldorf Education Philosophy, while Waldorf Education Philosophy absorbs the principles of Human Intellectual Philosophy. As the facade of the school, the reception area follows the Waldorf Education Philosophy and the Human Intellectual Philosophy to make a design solution, Therefore, the reception area uses relatively simple abstract patterns and chooses colors from nature to create a natural atmosphere, so that young children can develop their inherent creativity.

Library and Art Area

The library and art area is a combination area, and it allows children to conduct reading activities and make artistic creations at the same time. In order to build a warm, comfortable, and full of artistic atmosphere, this area integrates lots of elements from nature, like trees, hills, animals, etc. Meanwhile, the designer is based on the appearance of the tree of wisdom to design a tree-shaped bookshelf with seats and continues the connotation meaning of this tree of wisdom, which means that children can acquire endless wisdom and cherished knowledge.

Preschool Outdoor Play Area Design

In view of the fact that Waldorf Education attaches great importance to the harmony of the natural environment, therefore, the MooTon Group combines jungle fun with urban modern design with tree house park design elements in the site, containing beautiful natural tree effects and curvilinear aesthetic elements. Here, children can not only exercise their bodies but also harvest society, cognition, and innovative ability.

In this preschool outdoor play area, the MooTon Group sets several amusement areas with various amusement purposes and functions and each amusement area is equipped with different high-quality outdoor playground equipment. Thereinto, the outdoor playground for preschool has the tree house playground,micro-terrain sensory integration training equipment, megaphone, smart expansion equipment, rock climbing, wall game equipment, musical instruments equipment, etc. Through playing with these outdoor playground equipment for preschoolers, kids can cultivate their balance ability, form creative thinking, and learn how to protect themselves.
